Stephen Thomas Schulere
SVP Strategic Solutions, Balboa Travel

Stephen Thomas-Schulere, Senior Vice President, Strategic Solutions-- From the high flying days of TWA to an executive position at Balboa Travel, Stephen Thomas-Schulere has risen through the ranks to become one of the most versatile travel professionals in the industry. Today, Stephen is responsible for quality improvement, strategic and operational planning and the development of innovative initiatives to enhance internal operational efficiencies and client effectiveness.

Prior to joining Balboa six years ago, Stephen held executive roles in client service and operations at Travel Leaders, and rose to the President role at Stevens Travel Management in New York.


Judi Froehlich
Account Executive, BCD Meetings & Events

Judi Froehlich is in Account Development with BCD Meetings & Events, with over 25 years' experience in event and meeting management, strategic communications, business development and marketing experience, Judi has had the opportunity to design and produce a variety of consumer and corporate events ranging in size from 2 - 35,000, in many countries across the globe.

Prior to BCD, Judi owned and operated JF Event Consulting, worked as the VP of Business Development & Event Solutions at Go West Events, Director of Sales for PGI (SF & NY), Director of Marketing Communications and Promotions for the Santa Monica CVB, and has held other dynamic positions throughout her career. She is also active in many industry associations, spoke on a variety of topics at industry events, and has held several board positions with MPI, including serving as President for Meeting Professionals International (Southern California Chapter) in 2011-2012.


Anil Punyapu
Senior Vice President, Cvent

Since joining Cvent in 2003, Anil launched the business development team focused on driving channel partnerships and brand recognition. Between 2004 to 2007, he grew the team to over 500 channel partners and then in 2008, he launched the enterprise sales and partnerships team. Current responsibilities include managing partnerships and reseller relationships and Cvent's Strategic Meetings Management product management, including sales and marketing. Prior to Cvent, Anil co-founded and was Director of Operations for Entertainment Ventures, a hedge fund of funds start-up.

Becoming a leader in the Meetings & Events industry was undoubtedly not where Anil expected his career to go. He earned a BS in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University and a law degree from the University of Maryland.


Jody Flowers
Principal, Flowers Hotel Group

LABTA's own multi-year Board Member Jody Flowers is a Principal of Flowers Hotel Group, a sales and marketing company representing boutique and independent hotels with clients in the US, Canada, Central America and Europe and also for the travel trade industry in the US. With over 20 plus years in travel, Jody and Flowers Hotel Group also organizes special events and meetings for the travel trade market. These events are focused in providing best in travel content and refreshing unique venues for the valuable consortia, corporate, entertainment, production and high touch leisure markets.

Jody earned a BS degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Purdue University. She was a member of Purdue's speaker circuit for the Hospitality and Tourism Darden Series. Jody was an MPISCC Board member in 2001, and has been on the LABTA board from 2011-2015, and again in 2017.
