Corporate Sponsorship

Jennifer Keltner is your 2009 Director of Corporate Sponsorship.  "The purpose of  my one person Corporate Sponsorship committee is to show value to our corporate sponsors with regards to hosting LABTA monthly meetings and special events," she explains. "Companies that decide to sponsor an event receive a lot of exposure with our members."

There are five levels of sponsorship:
  • Diamond:  Full Calendar Year
  • Platinum: Special Events
  • Gold:  Education Day & Holiday Party Sponsor
  • Silver: Program Sponsor of the Month
  • Table Sponsors:  One Sponsorship Table for a Month.
All levels include logo and name recognition among other benefits.

Please feel free to send Jennifer an e-mail at jennifer_keltner@toyota.com to learn more about sponsorship opportunities for 2010.

About Jennifer
Jennifer has twenty years experience in the travel industry.  Her experience began on the East Coast with a small carrier called Presidential Airways.  She moved to the West Coast early in her career to accept a position as a senior airline analyst for Douglas Aircraft, now Boeing.  Jennifer made a decision after three years that airline manufacturing was just not the same as the airline/travel industry.  Other companies that she has been proud to work for are United Airlines, Air New Zealand and Carlson Wagonlit Travel.  Today, Jennifer Keltner is the travel service manager for Toyota  Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. She has an MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu, Calif., and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Virginia Tech.

U.S. Government List of 'Cleared' Fliers Grows to 80,000 Names

According to USA Today, a U.S. government list of cleared fliers, whose names were confused with suspects on the terrorist watch list, has grown to 80,000 names. Legislation (The FAST Redress Act) currently in Congress and supported by NBTA would combine the cleared list with similar lists maintained by other government agencies to ensure a single comprehensive list is used by all federal agencies. 2009 Education Day Provides
Networking and Industry Insight

This year's LABTA Education Day, held at UCLA on March 18, provided a full day of information and networking opportunities.

The morning sessions included Christopher Thornberg, founding partner of Beacon Economics, who provided an Economic Outlook for 2009.  Next, Kathleen Sedlmayr, KES Consulting, moderated the Airport Security Panel which consisted of Andrew Goldsmith, vice president of marketing, Rapidscan Systems, and Phil Williams, aviation security manager, Virgin Atlantic Airways.  They discussed new security technology and how the airlines are trying to ease the security crunch for travelers. Prior to the networking lunch, Andy Feld, Simple Happy, LLC, explained Why This Economic Crisis is Our Most Wonderful Wake-Up Call and provide everyone the tools for personal happiness.

The Technology of Booking Ground Transportation session with Tim Csontos, vice president of sales, RideShare, kicked off the afternoon session.  The last session of the day was the Education Panel.  The panel was designed to provide LABTA's  membership better perspective and knowledge about the three primary travel certifications: CTE, CCTE and GLP. Eve White with HRG spoke about the GLP program, Belinda Borden from UCLA discussed her recent CCTE experience, and Donna Watson, director of education with NBTA talked about all three certifications.

"Education Day proved to be much more than I had expected and definitely worth the time away from the office," said Pamela Witherspoon, director of travel services at Universal Music Group and currently working toward her CCTE said. "I found the first speaker, Dr. Thornberg, provided a great overview and perspective on our economy as it relates to travel and what it means for us personally now and for the future.  This education day is being credited towards one of my CCTE electives, but had it not, I would have still found great value for my time. The entire day was informative, and a great way to network."
