Landmark Theme Building Observation Deck at Los Angeles International Airport Re-Opens

Release date: July 9, 2010

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- The Observation Deck atop the iconic Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will once again delight travelers and families with a 360-degree view of the airport as it re-opens to the public on weekends only with limited hours -- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays beginning Saturday, July 10, 2010. There is no time limit for how long visitors may stay on the deck. Together with the space-age, retro-themed Encounter Restaurant housed inside the building, the re-opening fully restores an LAX experience that had been a major draw to travelers from around the world.

Consider this:

  • Trips to a beach are one of the most popular travel activities. One in ten trips (10%) includes going to a beach!
  • LA sees 25M visitors annually spending approximately $15B in our economy
  • These visitors help create over 500,000 travel-related jobs throughout greater Los Angeles metro area

Conclusion: clean LA beaches helps support our industry, our economy, our community and our marine habitat

What is NBTAPAC?

NBTAPAC is NBTA's political action committee. It enables NBTA's advocacy team to raise money to support political candidates for federal office who know and understand - and support - the issues of business travelers.

Whether or not you are politically "active", there is no better way to support the candidates and the issues that impact your company's travel needs. Your contribution, combined with the donations from your NBTA colleagues from across the U.S., will help ensure that NBTA has the power to back those members of Congress who show leadership and commitment to the business travel community's issues. So let your voice be heard!
